This farm specializes in a product that’s increasingly rare in North America: goose foie gras. The whole production process, from egg to plate, happens directly on the farm. Unlike chickens, geese only lay eggs in the spring. After 28 days of incubation, the goslings begin to peck their way out of their shell. They are carefully tended for the first few weeks and then it’s out to pasture to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine!
The geese will spend the summer grazing in the fields. Once they’re good and plump, they’ll be fattened up and then used to make a variety of fine foods.
Born of a love for geese and good food, Québec-Oies was established in 2004 in the beautiful Côte-de-Beaupré region.
“We feel so lucky to be out on the farm, leading fulfilling lives and sharing that passion with our three children. Raising geese responsibly and preparing wonderful products that help bring family and friends together is our greatest joy.”
